Before getting started, gather all your equipment into one place.
Boil 450g/ml of filtered water.
Set your grinder to the appropriate setting for ‘AeroPress’ and grind 30g of coffee.
Place a fresh filter paper into the cap, attach to the AeroPress and place onto the brewing vessel. Put assembled brewing equipment onto a set of scales, zero, then rinse the filter paper with 50g/ml of fresh hot water. This will flush any unwanted paper residue and will warm the brewing vessel. Discard the water.
Place the plunger into the AeroPress to meet the 4 cup mark. Then remove the filter cap. Place the AeroPress upside down on the scales and add your freshly ground coffee.
Zero the scales, pour in 150g/ml of filtered water just off the boil and give the coffee a good stir for 3 seconds.
Remove the brewing equipment from the scales and place the filter cap onto the AeroPress. Gently push down until all the air is removed and the coffee just touches the filter. Allow the coffee to brew for 2 minutes.
After 2 minutes, place your brewing vessel onto the AeroPress and carefully turn it over. Slowly push the plunger down over 20 seconds.
Remove the AeroPress and place the vessel of coffee on to the scales, zero them again and add a further 200-250g/ml of filtered boiling water, or to taste.
Give your coffee a good stir and serve immediately.
